Advocating Freedom Through Despotism

Due to lack of participation, I have selected a header in what shall be a precursor to my dictatorial style of government.

I will be holding a contest for designing a campaign poster that can be used as a header for this page.  All entries must be submitted by April 12th.

We face a bleak and hostile time.  The average American mind is faced with a menagerie of frightening ideas; "Radical Islam," "Illegal Immigration," "Recession," "Global Warming," "Hate Crimes," and the "Housing Bubble" flash across our television sets and web browsers daily.  Our judges and representatives, forced by the hand of two centuries of public opinion and obscured meanings, have completely abandoned the Jeffersonian Republic and its promise of freedom.  In order to protect us from the boogie man of international and domestic threats created by their predecessors, personal liberties and privacy have come under near-silent attack.

Through this same system of over-regulation and obfuscation, a potentially beneficial free market has been turned into an authoritarian corporate slave-trade.  Those citizens who could not be cowed by government promises have been baited by corporate propaganda and shackled with debt at the hands of money lenders and legal-pirates.  All the while, government agents continue to comfort Americans into believing that they will be protected from all harm.

While minorities have continued to near equality with the perceived majority, that parity of freedom represents as much the repression of the liberties of the whole body as the emergence of any one part.  The government has taken upon itself the tenets of oppressive communism, pushing its citizens to the lowest common denominator rather than allowing them to climb to personal heights of ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.  The system that was put in place, framed by the Constitution to limit the powers of government, has instead been used to box in the natural rights of the individuals it was designed to protect.  That system has been broken!  We must step outside of it through direct action and with the will of the people to set right that Great Experiment, that message that all men are created equal, that governments have no rights, only powers delegated to them by the people themselves!

That is why I, SaikotikGunman, shall seek popular appointment as benevolent dictator of these United States of America, that wrongs may be righted and that our society may once again shine as a beacon of liberty for all the world to see.  Thank you.
